"NDUGU MDOGO" PROJECT

We continue to support the Ndugu Mdogo Project, in Kenya.

Rome - During their holiday in Italy, the children put on ah amusing show with Amani Onlus Association

Ndugu Mdogo, that in Kiswahili means Little Brother, was born with the intention to insure a better future to children grown on the street, through a  path that insures them cure, support and education.
Ndugu Mdogo is structured like a  care home and it is located  in the Kerarapon village. Currently 37 ex street children are hosted there, 10 of them are from 6 to 12 years, 8 of them are from 13 to 16 years and 19 of them are from 17 to 22 years old.
Three  Kenyan families take care of all the children and they lead them along the educational and growth path.

Also this year, the support we are giving them will enable the children, currently housed, to lead a good standard family life, that has a positive effect on their academic performance.

During February 2010 has started a family reintegration program that allows, in these days, 10 boys of Ndugu Mdogo project to return to live with their families and to discover the stability that ensures them a future.

The Elleci house is able, right now, to give hospitality to 50 children of the Mthunzi Centre, a project of former  ex children street that Amani runs in Lusaka in Zambia, for which  there is an important educational project training.
