Production of "authentic" steel articles
Our sinks are made of genuine stainless steel, precisely the family of steel defined as AISI 304 (EN 1.4301). Our stainless steel sinks are always shiny, they do not rust or fade. Their finish keeps the lustre of the first day for a long time when other materials are already aged.
The choice of 304 is motivated by the excellent mechanical features and resistance to corrosion, Elleci did not take into account cheaper steels such as those of 200 series because the latter, having a lower content of nickel (which has the great advantage of increasing the speed of re-passivation) they contain
inside significant amounts of manganese (Mn), which has a strong affinity with sulphur to form manganese sulphides which are areas of preferential corrosion initiation.
Instructions for the maintenance of steel sinks For everyday cleaning do use regular detergent suitable for stainless steel receptacles. Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use pan scourers or abrasive sponges. Do not use neither chemical detergent for silver nor bleach or other disinfectants containing chlorine or its derivatives. To keep your sink shiny as new, Elleci recommends the "active inox" special product for the thorough cleaning of stainless steel sinks effective for removing stains.
