FAQ

All the answers to your questions: practical guides to the installation, use and correct maintenance of your Elleci product.

The first thing to do to clean the tap filter/strainer/aerator is to remove it from its housing and let the component soak for at least 12 hours in a solution of hot water and vinegar. Once this operation has been completed, the component must be rinsed thoroughly and any limescale or rust deposits still present must be removed. The tap component must then be dried and reassembled. To resolve this quickly, simply unscrew the aerator, clean it thoroughly and let it soak in warm water and vinegar, then reassemble it. Usually this malfunction is due to a blockage of the aerator or simply limescale residue on its components.

Elleci colored kitchen taps are made of brass with a colored finish that can be matched to the colors of the Granitek and/or Keratek materials.

The colored parts of Elleci kitchen taps are durable if the right care and maintenance choices are made. The use of abrasive or aggressive detergents is therefore not recommended. Warm water and a soft cloth will be sufficient to maintain the product’s esthetic characteristics over time.

The main cause of leakage from the control lever very often relates to limescale deposits in the tap cartridge. You will need to clean the cartridge, and we recommend that you contact your preferred technical personnel. If you decide instead to clean the cartridge yourself, we recommend that you clean all areas of the seals or tap affected by limescale using vinegar. Once the procedure has been completed, you will need to check that the system is working properly. If the leak persists, a support ticket must be opened using the following link: https://www.elleci.com/it/come-possiamo-aiutarti/richiedi-assistenza/apri-una-pratica-di-richiesta-assistenza/

If you do not have an overly complex kitchen tap, you can carry out this operation yourself. The following is the suggested procedure for replacing a kitchen tap:

  1. You must first turn off the mains water supply
  2. Open the lever or knob of the tap to drain all the water remaining in the pipes
  3. Place a container or basin under the pipes, and disconnect the fittings using hydraulic pliers and or polygonal wrench
  4. Unscrew the nut(s) holding the tap and remove it from above
  5. Take the new tap already assembled with the supplied hoses and place it from above in the corresponding hole on the sink
  6. Ensure that the gasket and base (if present) have been correctly positioned before tightening the nut(s) using hydraulic pliers or a polygonal wrench
  7. The pipes for the hot and cold water connection to the tap can be flexible or made of rigid pipe: in this case they must be cut to the required length using a pipe-cutting tool.
  8. As a final step, connect the hoses or rigid pipe with fittings to the wall pipes, checking the diameter. Once all fittings are tightened, open the water supply and check for leaks.

The following is a general procedure for replacing the kitchen tap cartridge.

  1. You must first turn off the mains water supply
  2. Using an Allen key, unscrew the small screw located under the control lever
  3. Remove the control lever and other components (cartridge cover ring/cartridge cover ring nut)
  4. Remove the cartridge
  5. Insert the new cartridge and refit the other elements previously removed
  6. Once the procedure is complete, the mains water supply can be re-established and checked for leaks or any malfunctions
