HOW DO I CLEAN THE HOB? Advice for every surface

For gas hobs and induction glass-ceramic hobs, thorough daily cleaning is recommended as these are among the most commonly used appliances. Generally, it is necessary to use products suitable for cleaning specific surfaces. For glass or enameled steel parts, aggressive substances and certain types of sponges should not be used because they could irreparably damage the surfaces.

How do I clean a colored enamel hob?

A colored textured effect has always been one of Elleci’s strengths, guaranteeing the quality of its products and the best match with sinks made of Granitek and Keratek Plus. Cleaning an enamel hob is quick and easy: just use a soft, non-abrasive sponge or a soft damp cloth. It is important to use only well-diluted neutral detergents or specific ready-to-use Daily Clean products for colored surfaces. The use of corrosive or aggressive products is strongly discouraged as they could irreparably damage the colored sections of the surface. After cleaning is completed, the surface should be thoroughly dried and stains should be removed where possible while the hob is still warm, as this will prevent them from being absorbed by the textured surface.

How do I clean an Elleci gas or induction glass hob?

Each model of tempered glass gas hob needs to be cared for it properly to maintain its esthetic properties over time. We recommend the use of neutral detergents diluted with water or the specific Daily Clean spray product for colored surfaces. Aggressive products such as bleach cannot be used as they could alter or damage the surface. It is recommended that the surface always be thoroughly dried using a soft cloth.

As an alternative to the modern method, there is a ‘natural’ cleaning procedure. Simply use a solution of warm water, baking soda and apple cider vinegar to achieve an excellent result.

How do I clean hob components such as burners and black cap covers?

Hob components such as aluminum burners and matte black cap covers generally require cleaning after each use. The cleaning procedure will depend on the extent and type of soiling. A damp cloth can sometimes be enough, but more thorough cleaning is occasionally needed. To remove stain residues from the matte black cap covers and aluminum burners, a couple of lemons should be used. Once cut in half so they can be easily applied, the lemons should be rubbed on all stained surfaces and the citric acid should be left for at least 5 to 10 minutes. In the meantime, a solution of warm water and dishwashing liquid should be prepared. Using a soft Scotch Brite-type sponge soaked in the solution, the previously treated components should be cleaned individually, leaving the mixture to work for a few minutes and then thoroughly rinsing all components one at a time. All components should be thoroughly wiped dry using an absorbent cloth at this point to prevent the formation or release of oxidized particles and they should then be placed back on the hob.

This cleaning procedure will be more or less effective depending on the extent and nature of the soiling. It is recommended that the operation be repeated in the following days if the soiling is not completely removed on the first attempt.

How do I clean the oven?

To ensure proper use of the oven over time, care must be taken to provide continuous and optimal maintenance. It is recommended that the interior cooking space, racks, drip pans and inner glass door be cleaned after each use using simple techniques:

- Corrosive or aggressive products should not be used, as they can damage the internal parts of the appliance and impair its operation. The appliance can thus be protected from stubborn stains and deposits that are difficult to remove later.

- In addition to the specific products that can easily be found on the market, there is a natural cleaning method. The following is one of the most popular options, summarized in a few simple steps:

- Remove the drip pans and racks from the oven.

- Mix baking soda and vinegar in a baking dish or container.

- Apply the mixture directly to the oven walls using a soft sponge.

- Fill the dish or container with white vinegar and water and place it on a rack inside the oven.

- Close the oven and heat to 160 degrees for about 30 minutes.

- Wipe the oven walls thoroughly with a damp cloth.

How do I clean the oven glass?

Oven glass is a component prone to accumulation of cooking residues, so it needs to be thoroughly cleaned regularly both to keep it looking good and to keep it clean and safe. To clean oven glass, you can simply use home remedies suitable for both mild stains and those that are more difficult to remove, such as a mixture of water, white vinegar and baking soda. The following is a simple procedure to make your glass oven door shine again:

- Mix water, white vinegar and baking soda in a container.

- Wipe the glass with a damp cloth to remove surface soiling.

- Pour the mixture onto the glass and leave it to act for a few minutes.

- Rinse and dry thoroughly using a microfiber or other soft cloth.

Repeat the procedure if the soiling is more stubborn to remove, increasing the action time. Do not use corrosive products and abrasive sponges because they could irreparably damage the oven glass.

How do I clean the oven racks?

To ensure that your oven is always clean and safe, the racks where soiling lurks should be cleaned after each use. It is therefore appropriate to perform routine cleaning and to act promptly if there are stubborn stains that are difficult to remove.

The following is a simple procedure to make racks shine again and restore their luster using vinegar and baking soda:

- Remove the racks from the oven and place them on a shelf or inside the bowl of the kitchen sink.

- Prepare a solution of water and white vinegar.

- Fill a spray-cap bottle with the freshly prepared solution and apply the solution to the surface of the racks.

- Leave to act for a few minutes.

- Sprinkle baking soda on the racks.

- When finished, rinse using warm water and dry thoroughly using a microfiber or other soft cloth.

If there is stubborn residue, repeat the cleaning procedure several times until the stains are completely removed.
