Elleci presents the 2023 Sustainability Report

Sustainable innovation,
quality of life and ethics

Elleci publishes its first ESG performance reporting document and officially shares with partners, customers and stakeholders the path it has long taken towards a responsible and environmentally sustainable development model.

Sustainability Report

Elleci is the international company of Italian origin that designs and manufactures composite sinks and washbasins and design accessories for Kitchen and Bath. Established in 1992 by Giancarlo Traversa and led today together with his children Graziano, Veronica and Daniele, it is a leader in Italy and one of the world’s top players in the production of composite sinks with a turnover of €50 million, 250 employees and the recent inauguration of the second independent production plant, strongly oriented towards sustainability.

“We are working on major growth projects for the next few years and we want to address them by placing sustainability at the heart of our business strategy, as a central, cross-cutting element of the entire value chain. – declares President Giancarlo Traversa – We have drawn up the list of specific and ambitious goals to be achieved by 2030.”

The ecological
transition plan

Recycled and renewable raw materials, clean energy, water recycling, reduction of emissions and industrial waste: for each of the environmental pillars, Elleci has set an improvement target of at least 50%.

Technological innovation has always been the tool with which we improve people’s quality of life. – explains the Chairman – We commissioned the Elleci Innovation Centre, our technology hub that serves as a permanent research laboratory, to develop solutions that will lead to the realisation of the green sink.

Other concrete actions to promote sustainable progress include the installation of two photovoltaic plants, the recovery and reuse of water in the production cycle, process efficiency and investments in innovative technologies for decarbonisation.

The enhancement
of human capital

From occupational safety to gender equality and inclusion policies, at Elleci, the implementation of regulations offers enlightening insights for human resources management and revitalises the objectives for workers’ well-being far beyond the provisions of the law.

We love to think of the company as a collective entity, in which success is a shared goal. – says Giancarlo Traversa – “Together” is the first word that accompanies the new Elleci logo “Together, with style”: it is the testament of a the daily commitment to build a work environment in which every person feels respected and inspired to give their best.

To support the professional growth and quality of life of workers, Elleci implements integrative policies with respect to National Collective Bargaining Agreements with training programmes, production bonuses, corporate welfare and new formulas for work-family reconciliation such as maternity management, shared parenting and work flexibility.

Governance and
sustainability management

The real challenge of sustainability is not limited to the short-term achievement of set goals, but to make it the driver of the company’s future development, letting its principles guide every choice in terms of governance.

Seriousness, transparency and reliability are the cornerstones on which I founded Elleci – reiterates Giancarlo Traversa – At the time, it was a matter of personal relationships based on trust; over the years the company has grown and we have enthusiastically embraced every instrument that could offer support and stability to our exemplary way of operating.

The Code of Ethics, Model 231, Whistleblowing procedures are among the most recent and important initiatives. The Sustainability Report introduces a fundamental new body, the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee: its mission is to monitor all processes to identify areas for improvement and create virtuous procedures.

“We have defined programs and investments in each of the three areas: Environmental, Social and Governance. – concludes the Chairman – We are aware that the results will be all the more satisfactory, the more we will be able to involve everyone – employees, suppliers, collaborators, customers and partners – in the common vision of a sustainable future. Any form of progress can only be the fruit of beautiful teamwork.”

The Sustainability Report 2023, published on a voluntary basis, was prepared in compliance with GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) standards and covers the reporting period 01 January – 31 December 2023. In relation to the expected developments in sustainability reporting, introduced by the entry into force of the 2022/2464/EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, an initial alignment to the reporting principles pursuant to the ESRS standards – Annex I to the EU Delegated Regulation 2023/2772 was also initiated.
