FAQ

All the answers to your questions: practical guides to the installation, use and correct maintenance of your Elleci product.

You may notice a gas smell even if the burner ignition takes longer than expected because gas continues to be released in the meantime. Check how many seconds it takes to turn on, as this could be the cause of the smell (the legal maximum is 5 seconds). We recommend requesting a check from the installer who installed the product, once installation-related problems have been ruled out. If the knob or tap gets stuck, check whether:

  • The taps are out of position in relation to the bushing. There may be friction between the bushing and the tap rod/knob.
  • A water/salt water/liquid spillage has occurred affecting the tap, as deposits or dirtcould have formed, generating friction. In this case, you will need to try turning and pressing the knob several times.

If you have received components in general that are broken, scratched or damaged (cosmetic damage, broken glow plugs, scratched or dented surface plates), you must notify the seller/installer immediately of the non-conformity and the product must not be installed. Please note that the abovementioned product, as well as all products of the same type, is not covered by a conventional warranty (also known as a manufacturer’s warranty) but rather only by a legal warranty and, therefore, all requests and interventions under warranty that do not relate to a functional defect in the product will not be dealt with by the Elleci service center.

Elleci gas hobs are prepared for use with methane gas, but also come with a nozzle kit for LPG. You will need to replace the fitted nozzles with those supplied specifically for LPG gas. We strongly recommend that these be replaced by authorized technical personnel.

If the burners do not hold a flame, you should check whether
the knob can be pressed down properly or if it rests on the hob surface before finishing its full travel.
In the latter case, it could be the absence of a washer under the knob that is impairing its proper functioning, since in this case the knob, when pressed, cannot hold the valve open wide enough to trigger the magnet. The thermocouple is dirty or has been damaged, or a malfunction occurred after a spillage from a pan.
Accidental damage to or simply dirt on the body of the thermocouple could affect its response. We recommend opening a support file by clicking directly on the following link: https://www.elleci.com/help-support/ to find a solution.
The cover and cap cover are not correctly positioned.
Incorrect positioning affects the shape of the flame and consequently the response from the thermocouple. Check by removing the components and replacing them in the appropriate locations.
The thermocouple is free to move out of position.
If this happens, it could be due to usage. In this case, it is important to check whether it only happens under certain conditions (pan size, ventilation). The manual indicates a maximum pan diameter for which the hob is tested and approved. For pans above that size, operation is not guaranteed. Switching on the induction hob is simple and intuitive. Because it is a touch control, you need to tap the ignition symbol at the bottom of the hob surface until the control light beeps and comes on. You can then use the desired cooking zone by setting the power level from 1 to 9.

If the touch controls are not performing any functions, you will need to initiate a simple reset procedure by turning off the power supply for a few minutes (unplug or disconnect from the system) and then restarting. If a temporary error of this kind occurs, the system will perform a reset (remember that it is not enough to switch the system off, the power source must be unplugged or disconnected). If the ignition is found to be faulty, it is necessary to find out how long ago the fault occurred. If the product is being used for the first time, there are a number of potential causes and solutions:
Damaged or crimped glow plug cable. If the cable insulation breaks, the spark is discharged to the nearest metal part inside the hob and not to the tip of the glow plug. We recommend requesting a check from the installer who installed the product, once installation-related problems have been ruled out. If the problem persists, you should immediately open a support file by clicking directly on this link https://www.elleci.com/help-support/
The glow plug gives off a spark but the burner still does not ignite. The glow plug seems too close to or far away from the working glow plugs.
In such cases, the malfunction could be due to the cable not being correctly routed underneath and exerting pressure at the base of the glow plug, causing displacement. To resolve this, simply rotate the glow plug so that the wires underneath are repositioned. None of the glow plugs are working.
In this case, you will need to check whether power is reaching the hob, verifying the power cable, which may be partially disconnected. We recommend requesting a check from the installer who installed the product, once installation-related problems have been ruled out. No spark can be heard when a single knob is actioned at a time.
In this case, you should try pressing two knobs at the same time (the one that does not ignite and one for a burner that is not working). If they both light, the problem is in the micro, where the fork may have become dislodged from its seat in the rod. If you remove the knob, the problem should be visible and can be easily fixed using a screwdriver. In the case of a malfunction occurring at a later date, there are a number of potential causes and solutions:
Defective or faulty igniter.
This could be caused by overheating due to the use of pots/pans/steak pans larger than those indicated in the manual. This causes the surface and corresponding internal components to overheat. If there is an established gas leak or even just the smell of gas, you should immediately check whether:

  • The hob has been installed correctly according to the instructions in the manual
  • An installation report by a qualified technician is available
  • The components in the spare parts bag have been used according to the manual
  • Gaskets have been used in the gas connection fittings
  • If the product has not been correctly connected to the mains (insufficient tightening, no gasket), gas leakage at the fitting can flow into the hob through the rear opening. We recommend requesting a check from the installer who installed the product, once installation-related problems have been ruled out.
